• With humid weather and temperatures maintaining a steady high, the very last thing we want to do is slave over our hair all day and night. These easy summer hairstyles will save us—and you—the trouble. Sweeping Side Braid We love Elizabeth Olsen's boho take on the braid—it's cute without looking too precious. "The sweeping side braid looks carefree, adds style to any outfit and turns a bad hair day into compliments all day," says Aussie celebrity stylist Sarah Potempa. To get the look, spritz hair with Aussie Hair Insurance Anti-Breakage Spray ($4.97, walmart.com) from roots to ends, then loosely pull hair over to one side. Separate into three sections and follow the pattern: Right over middle, left over middle. When you reach the bottom, secure with a clear elastic.

  • Twisted Updo If you want a cool way to keep your hair off your neck, Potempa suggests a volumized updo like Emma Stone's. To recreate, tease roots and curl with a small ¾-inch iron for texture. Separate out the top and clip it to add volume. Take pieces from the sides and back and tie into multiple knots (like tying your shoes) until you reach the end, then twist and secure with bobby pins through the middle of the hair. Take the front sections and twist into the back, bobby pinning in place.

  • Textured Half-Up For a no-fuss 'do, try a half-up hairstyle like Rachel Bilson's. "Texture really goes well with summer's bright earrings and breathes new life into a boring style," says Potempa. Tease roots with a large-toothed comb, spritz with a heat-protecting spray, and then curl small sections with a ¾-inch curling iron. Pull a section of hair on each side up and back, then secure with a small elastic. Take the top section and separate into two pieces, tie them in a knot and secure them to the base of the ponytail, leaving volume throughout.

  • Straight and Sleek Flat-ironed hair doesn't have to be lifeless—just look at Nina Dobrev's straight and sexy strands. "Smooth hair is simple to do, and adding movement makes it feel fresh," says Potempa. "Plus, sleek styles look great with summer's colorful patterns." Spritz damp hair with a heat-protecting spray, then blow dry. Run a ceramic smoothing iron with beveled edges up from the root for volume, rotating your wrist under in a C-shaped pattern. This will give hair a smooth, bouncy finish instead of a flat, lackluster look.

  • Headband Bun "A headband is an easy way to dress up a casual bun," says Potempa. "There are so many options that you can go from day to night, just by swapping out your accessories." To score a sweet style like Hailee Steinfeld, apply mousse to roots and a smoothing serum to ends, then do a quick blow dry. Pull hair into a low ponytail and secure. Twist the ponytail in one direction, then secure with pins until you've wrapped it all the way around the base. Add your headband of choice and you're ready to go!

  • Natural Waves "All hair types will naturally curl in the summer due to the humidity in the air," says Potempa. Don't fight it; flaunt those curls! To get Selena Gomez's natural waves, skip brushing your hair when you get out of the shower. Instead, spritz a volumizing spray-gel all over strands. Next, diffuse hair with your blow dryer, keeping hair still to enhance the wave patterns. To perfectly polish this look and control frizz, apply anti-frizz cream to keep hair soft, smooth and shiny.

  • Sleek High Ponytail Yes, you can make a simple ponytail glamorous—just look at how chic Emilia Clarke's high pony looks. To glam up your pony, flat iron out any waves in the hair, then apply a dime size amount of anti-frizz cream to roots. "Be generous with the cream, as it will combat frizz and fight humidity, leaving your pony looking sleek," says Potempa. Brush hair up into the ponytail, tilting your head up while you secure it to keep the back smooth. Finish by wrapping a small piece of hair around the base to hide the elastic.

  • Hairline Braid A hairline braid like Alexa Chung's is an easy way to jazz up your everyday hairstyle and gives any look a boho-chic vibe. Apply a smoothing serum to ends of damp hair to make it easier to comb through and to protect against frizz all day long. Allow your hair to naturally air dry, then take a 2-inch section right near your part and separate it into two pieces. Switch the right under the left and add hair from the root as you continue to follow this pattern. Secure with two criss-crossed bobby pins.

  • High Bun Potempa loves a high bun like Amanda Seyfried's because it's chic, trendy and can be done in under five minutes. To get the look, flip your head over and spritz hair with Aussie You Can Shine Spray Gloss ($2.97, walmart.com) all over to add instant shine and create a polished look. Secure hair in a high ponytail, then twist it to one direction and pin with large bobby pins as you wrap into a bun. Voilà! A chic updo that looks like it took hours to create. Only you'll know the truth.

  • Faux Bobs Faux bobs like Amy Adams's are great for summer because, according to Potempa, they're a cute style that's actually easy to do. Plus, it's like getting a summer haircut sans commitment. To get the look, create a deep side-part, spritz hair with heat-protecting spray and curl with a 1-inch curling iron to add waves. With a long, soft sponge roller, wrap the hair from the ends all the way up to the base of the neck and secure with bobby pins.
