The manicure at 3.1 Phillip Lim was designed to have a "shadowed, crescent moon effect," according to the Essie team. • The "Mercury Manis" at Behnaz Sarafpour used high shine gold and metallic accents. These tips were created with CND polish in Gold Chrome ($6, cnd.com) and Silver Chrome ($6, cnd.com), but your results may not be the same at home. CND says this works best over a high-tech clear enhancement.

  • CND nail artist Kristina Estabrooks and her team spent over 130 hours hand detailing "biker babe" manicures for The Blonds. No two sets of nails were the same, and the team used everything from crystals and glitter to leather and crushed glass shards in their designs.
