When Robert started hitting the red carpet for the Twilight premieres, his hair was already stealing the spotlight. Girls were swooning and guys were skipping hair appointments to have sky-high Edward hair of their own. Few articles were written about Robert's acting abilities, but tons have been created in the name of his 'do. Whether he wanted to or not, Pattinson had to take a back-seat to his hair.
Soon after Rob rose to stardom, the focus continued to center on his hair, but there was a shift in how women felt about it. His tresses were once thought of as gorgeous, but soon they were just gross. As his hair got greasier and greasier, he admitted in an interview that he gave up washing it. Apparently his hair liked the feeling of being dirty, but we can't help but wonder what Kristen thought of the new change.
Just like Britney Spears, Rob's hair could only stand the limelight for so long before it snapped. It started showing up to events and in public covered up with a hat. No longer wanting the attention of millions of fans, Robert's hair went into hiding.
When the Twilight cast was featured at Comic Con, Rob's hair decided it was time to make an appearance, but it wouldn't come back as Edward's signature look. Instead, Robert's hair seemed to go through a bit of a rebellious phase, and it showed up half shaved with a long mop on top. Although Robert said the new hairstyle was for a role, we still aren't convinced his hair wasn't just throwing a tantrum.
Robert was most recently spotted at the Breaking Dawn premier sporting shorter, cleaner and more subtle hair. Could it be that age and wisdom has made the once infamous hairdo a more mature version of itself, or will we see the inner Edward shine through once more?
