• Summer brings gorgeous bright hues to our tips that aren't always practical for the workplace. Instead, color combo your hands and feet by coordinating soft colors on the hands and bold on the feet while still keeping them both in the same color family. This creates consistency without sticking to just one hue. Ciaté expert and Creative Marketing Manager Sophie Huddy walks us through finding our perfect match.

  • For Fair Skin
"Before you pick your polish shade, always remember which shades are most flattering for your skin tone," says Huddy. "Bold colors, such as vibrant oranges and dark reds complement fair complexions and make your nail color pop." We recommend keeping it classic on the hands with Sephora Formula X Flashy ($10.50, sephora.com), a traditional red, and go brighter with Sephora Formula X Push the Limits ($10.50, sephora.com), a pink-tomato red hybrid.

  • For Fair Skin
"Those with fair skin look great with a range of pink-toned polishes from pale to deeper shades." Huddy recommends a light pink manicure in Ciaté Hoopla ($12, ciate.co.uk) paired with a darker, brighter pink pedicure in Ciaté Kiss Chase ($12, ciate.co.uk).

  • For Medium Skin
"For medium or olive complexions, try peach colors or neutrals, bright colors or pretty pastels in lilacs and blues to contrast your skin tone." We love a bright orange, like OPI Atomic Orange ($8, opi.com), with a light orange/coral, such as OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? ($8, opi.com).

  • For Medium Skin
To warm the skin, wear a bright lilac, like Essie Play Date ($8.50, essie.com), on the fingers and a neon plum, like Essie DJ Play That Song ($8.50, essie.com), on the toes.

  • For Dark Skin
"Dark skin tones look gorgeous with deep berry shades," says Huddy.  Create a small contrast with varying textures. We recommend painting Deborah Lippmann Lady is a Tramp ($18, deborahlippmann.com), a sanguine red, on the fingers and go bolder with Deborah Lippmann Good Girl Gone Bad ($18, deborahlippmann.com), a cabernet shimmer, on the toes.

  • For Dark Skin
Play with shimmering metallics, a big trend over the past few seasons. Butter London Airy Fairy ($15, sephora.com) is a shimmery bright blue with gel-like staying power. Keep it bright (but toned down slightly) with Butter London Giddy Kipper ($15, butterlondon.com), an opaque indigo on the fingernails.
