Not many people would look good swathed in a turqouise caftan, but then again not many people look like Chanel Iman. The 20-year-old Victoria's Secret model stole the show in a stunning BCBG by Max Azria dress with cut-out shoulders and strappy gold stilettos.
The Olsen twins have come a long way from child stars to full-blown fashionistas--they were even nominated for this year's CFDA Swarovski Award For Womenswear. And although the girls lost to crowd fave Prabal Gurung, they still looked radiant dressed in designs from their own luxe label, The Row.
Singer, entertainer, provocateur...call her what you want, but Lady Gaga is now officially a Fashion Icon after receiving the coveted award from the CFDA last night. Considering she's worn some pretty over-the-top outfits in the past, including a dress made of meat, bubbles and some other questionable "fabrics" this custom-designed Thierry Mugler gown with sheer sleeves and a cascading black train seemed pretty tame, minus the teal bob and red claw-like nails.
Jessica Alba showed off her baby bump in a salmon and lavender color-blocked dress. The mommy-to-be went to none other than wrap-dress queen and CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg for the design, which she styled perfectly with a sleek bun and gold jewelery.
Before we go knocking Marcia Cross for her sequined-halter-wide-legged-jumpsuit let's remember that she is, in fact, 49 years old. So we have to admit she looks pretty good, despite the Pamella Roland-designed fiasco. And although the CFDA is all about celebrating fashion and designers--just a piece of advice, if it looks like a thousand glitter pens exploded onto your outfit, you might want to tone it down a notch.
