It's the height of summer and you're at the top of your game. We bet you're in your best bikini-worthy shape, so why not show it off in a crop top and maxi like Freida Pinto? Our experts dished out 10 tips to help you embrace your summer goddess style.
"[A] midriff is never a miss! Show off a little of your tan tummy with cropped tops and maxi skirts," says Chelsey Santry, Creative Director for Patterson J. Kincaid.
The perfect way to show off tan and toned stems--with a chunky wedge shoe. "Wedges are way more stable than a heel but still give you the extra height to have a little more sass and pep in your step, allowing you to go from play date to dinner and a cocktail in one fell swoop," says Rosie Pope, designer and star of Pregnant in Heels. We love Aldo's Carse Wedges ($80, Aldoshoes.com) in trendy sea foam green.
"When your skin color is sun-kissed, your nail color pops differently on your nails and toes," says celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann. "Shades like HOLLABACK GIRL outrageous orange ($16, Lippmanncollection.com), from the Run The World (Girls) collection take on a whole new look against a great tan."
Give your already sun-kissed hair an extra boost with a lightening spray or clip-in extensions. Marc Anthony Easy-Lites Instant Highlighting Spray ($8.99, Ulta.com) is great for touching up your roots. Or you can lighten up your look by using clip-ins like hair extensions. Celebrity stylist Ken Paves says to use ones that are two shades lighter than your natural color. "This way you can pump up your highlights and make them last without ever dying a single strand," Paves says.
"Healthy looking skin begins with hydration, so before you apply any type of tan intensifier make sure you have scrubbed off any dead skin and moisturize," says Sheranda Curtis, Sephora PRO makeup expert. We love Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB Skin Perfector ($8.99, Maybelline.com), which hydrates skin, protects against UVA/UVB rays, and helps hide lines and wrinkles. So go ahead and keep having fun in the sun!
"While it's commonly considered a colder season essential, a bright red lip instantly adds fun and freshness to your natural summer beauty," says makeup artist Sonia Kashuk. We couldn't agree more! Look no further than Marion Cotillard to see just how much a red lip can perk up your sexy summer look.
